Pastel-Free Zone: Easter Done Different

Easter is just around the corner! There are so many things to look forward to – first bank holiday of the year (I’m not counting New Year’s)… Stuffing your face with chocolate… And it’s also a good excuse to decorate. Not that we need an excuse. But, it’s always nice to embrace a holiday isn’t it?

Easter offers plenty of opportunity with lovely spring flowers, thoughts of rabbits, baby chicks and gorgeous eggs. This year, I’m thinking that I want to stay away from the pastels – it’s been so done! How about keeping Easter very chic and grown up with a more monochrome scheme? I’m really feeling it.

Easter is such a great time to feast with family and friends. So of course, décor is going to trickle down to table settings. In keeping with this grown up, monochromatic scheme, how lovely is this table setting? A very elegant and restrained set up, don’t you think?

That’s all well and good if you’re only catering to those above the age of 18. If you’re catering for children, you can still keep with a lovely chic, minimal scheme whilst embracing a childlike sense of fun. How about this for inspiration? I love the cheeky egg-holders!

But if you’re also thinking of going all out and embracing even more fun, you’ll find that trees aren’t just for Christmas! There are some great little “Easter trees” you can create with branches.

Plenty of food for thought here. I hope you have a lovely Easter filled with delicious chocolate eggs, hot cross buns and that you get to indulge in an abundance of celebratory interior decorations!
