We asked one of our fantastic Homewings designers to give us 5 quick top tips on decorating your home in autumn. Sidika Owen, interior designer and artist gave us some great autumn pointers!

While spring is all about light, airy, and more feminine accents, autumn is the time to go a little more masculine. I like to add darker accents like grays and blues to add some depth to your space, and layer on lots of texture. I would go for a dark, cosy, more masculine colour palette, such as dark denim, indigo, slate, grayed-out blues. I particularly like the Stiffkey Blue from Farrow & Ball or Indigo from Little Green.

I would add some texture with cushions in Orton or Tartan check fabric in dove grey, apple green or cranberry colours!

You can never go wrong with a soft, chunky knit throw over the back of the sofa!

You can also bring the outside in with wooden trays and seagrass baskets.

I’m also a big fan of jute rugs, they add a lot of warmth to any design scheme.
